Hello Mam, I had my first abortion last December due to some family issues. I and my partner had to abort our baby as families would not accept pregnancy before marriage.. that created many problems and we broke up. I started moving on.. but I am mentally still depressed about my abortion. I really wanted to keep my child but I was helpless as both our families were very orthodox. I just want to know if this will create any problem in concieving in future. I have had a good safe medical abortion and until date I haven't got any problems from it. Also, if its required to say doctor about my abortion.. I don't want to say because it mite create a problem in my married life.iam very scared in this case please help me.

An abortion is a medical procedure. If it was done correctly, with no complications, there should be absolutely no reason why you can't conceive in the future.

It is always best to tell your doctor your full medical history when you become pregnant, and that includes any abortions, miscarriages, etc. etc. that you've had. Your doctor cannot disclose any of the information you tell him.

Most women who have one abortion can still conceive. While it is too late now, NEVER EVER do anything you don't want to do. Do not let family or friends force you into choices you don't want.

And yes future doctors need to know about this, since it is part of your medical record.

Also since family knows and someone is likely to talk from your side or his, keeping this a secret from a new husband would be a very unwise thing.
