I had unprotected sex twice during July. I had my period in August. Does that mean I am definitely not pregnant?

What do you think?

If you used protection, you shouldn't be worried. If you had unprotected sex, like I foolishly did, you have reason to be a little worried. I'm worried too. But, think about it this way: it takes some people a lot of tries to get pregnant, so maybe that one time for you didn't get you pregnant. It all depends, though. Hope you're okay :)

I don't know. I've heard stories about people who don't find out until later on during their pregnancy. But hopefully not. I guess I will have to wait to see. Time will tell.

Um.. that isn't a correct statement at all.

No form of protection is 100% effective. You can actually be using THREE forms of protection at the same time and still get pregnant.

One of our resident experts and Moderator had it happen TWICE... and she's a registered Obstetrics nurse (meaning she deals with Maternity issues in her job). And another moderator that had it happen the first time she had sex also using three forms at the same time.

I won't name them, I'll let them announce themselves...

So... if you have sex, then accept the possibility it could happen at any time... all you can do is affect what the percentage of odds are. You have to be celibate for them to be zero.

Usually having your period indicates you aren't... however that isn't true 100% of the time.

I'm nervous because my period is late this month- hopefully I get it soon.
