There was a movie that was WWII based, maybe late 80's about a boy over in a European country and his family and how they dealt with the war. A few facts I remember about the movie: The boy's sister married a soilder, cans of jam washed up on the beach and the boy and his family found them and ate it after months of eating bland food due to the war, the end of the movie the boy and his family stay with a relative as his sister is pregnant and he jumps over a fence to get an apricot for her, and the sister's husband was arrested by the military for dessertion after he attempts to leave the army to be with her. I know these details are scarce but I was very young when I watched this movie. Thanks a Lot!
