Hi there, hoping someone can help me decipher blood test results. Will give you a brief history. I went to my doctor approx. 2-3 months ago, with fatigue, aching joints, particularly knees, lower back, and elbows, fingers not swollen but feel fat, and also hard to get out of bed in the morning due to pain and stiffness and really tired . I am quite active but found if I play sport, in a lot of pain afterwards and then if I rest its really hard to stand up and can make pain worse. My GP sent me away to get blood tests and results came back negative for everything except for:
Rheumatoid Factor 29 IU/mL
ANA positive titre 320 with homogeneous pattern
What could this mean? And are these readings high?
My GP put me on anti-inflammatories for a month but they haven't helped much. My symptoms have lessened a little bit, but get aggravated by activity levels.
I normally get injured through sport but injuries normally go away with time, however lately if I get injured it still hangs around so that the injury toll is building up. Also within the last 5 months have had partial tear in right calf and just this weekend have torn my left calf muscle.
Could all this be related?
If someone could please help me I would really appreciate it, and then I could ask my Dr if I could get referred to someone to check it out properly if I knew what it meant>
Hope to hear from you soon :)

Taken together these results might be a pointer to Rheumatoid Arthritis you should discuss all treatments with your doctor and attend the doctors office regularly until you have a certain diagnosis and effective treatment. Doctors need to be questioned so you have clear understanding and be sensible lay off the sport for a while and allow yourself to heal

Thanks for your reply. My doctor has sent a referral through to a Rhuematologist for furthur investigation, as am getting new symptoms every week. If it wasn't for your advice would have probably just sat back and left it up to my doctor to sort out, but through persistence about symptoms she actioned it. Once again thanks for advice :)
