I am looking for a sauna-far infrared and the research I had done had made me more confused about it. EVery company that I had written about it they said they have the best sauna. Many of the saunas in the market are made in China where they gassed them before getting into port to come to America. I want a sauna made in Canada or the USA, a non toxic sauna. A good sauna. My decision is getting to be so hard. I know the benefits of a sauna but I don't know much about how it's made. Sunlight for example have the solocarbon heaters, others have ceramic heaters. The wood is also confusing. I know for sure I don't want red cedar, toxic. My sauna is going to be inside my house and that is a better reason to find the best non toxic, good electrical conditions and lo EMF. Please if you know anything that will help in my decision please write to me

Thanks

There are some nice finnish style saunas that use spruce and or pine... I have just finished a white spruce log sauna with cedar ceiling and benches. I sanded my logs with a rough grit sander and sealed them with 'Perma-Chink' which is pretty benign. I swear by heating a sauna with a wood stove. I have never had a good electric sauna, but that is not to say they don't exist. I also swear by the outdoor shower that I have installed on the sauna that runs off the garden hose... great way to cool off.

I think you should go for a traditional 'Finnish' sauna over the newer infrared sauna. Why? Well, I just believe the experience of a traditional sauna is better: I'm just Mr Biased today. Anyway, even though it's a commercial site it has some good information, seemingly unbiased: Steam Shower | Steam Cabin | Sauna Rooms by Di Vapor UK (http://www.divapor.com/). There is a sauna (http://www.divapor.com/) and article section so have a look.

Good luck!
