I am seeking information about Robert Kevin Welsh, born 31 August 1951, at Thomas Corram Home in London His birth mother, who was scottish, offered him up for adoption and my parents took the offer, and he became part of our family at 10 months of age. He was an adorable and happy young fellow, and he and I bonded quite quickly. I joined the British Army when Robert was about 6, by which time we were living in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. He was at my wedding in 1963 and we continued to keep in touch, with Robert spending holidays with my wife and I. About this time it seemed that things weren't quite right between Robert and the rest of my family (not us). Anyway, I was due to be posted to Aden in late 1965 when my parents announced to my wife and I that they were sending Robert back to the Home due to incompatibility! This, after raising him for 12 years. Unfortunately, even though we tried, the Army wouldn't allow us to take him on, so, away he went, poor kid. For some years we atempted to maintain contact with letters, cards and gifts which we sent through the home. To this day we aren't sure whether he actually received any of them. Over the past few years, I have tried to track him down using all of the standard, and some non-standard, search engines, Parish and County records and census and voter records, to no avail. I do believe that he is somewhere on London but that is all that I can come up with. I am also not sure how I would be received by him should I eventually find him, that's another story.
Any help that anyone can give me will be more than gratefully received, he would be around 59 years old at the moment, and as I am 70, there is probably not too much time left.
Thank you all very much...
