The fan on my outdoor A/C unit failed to come when the thermostat asked - this problem was intermittent. The HVAC guy diagnosed it as a faulty board. Needing to order the part, he bypassed the board temporarily. The unit is cooling and the fan turns on and off as needed. He mentioned I wouldn't have heat but being August in Florida heat isn't an issue. My question is how safe is this bypass and is there anything I need to watch for until the board is replaced?
