I have been dating a boy for just over a month now and we are already saying "I love you"... I was talking to one of my friends about it and I don’t feel comfortable with saying it yet... It is a big step and it is really really powerful! But we have been saying it since like the second week in our relationship and I feel like I have been leading him on in a way... And I don’t just want to quit saying it back because I don’t want him to think I’m like mad at him... I want to talk to him and tell him that I want him to stop saying it and that I’m not going to say it until I know that ii really do love him... I’m only 15! I don’t even know if a 15 year old can be in love!

Stop being over dramatic. A lot of people will even tell friends they love them. Have you ever been on Facebook or myspace 1 glance you'll probably see the words ''I love you'' 10 times.
Its not a huge step. Depending on were your from its not even a big deal.

I say it to my friends all the time but it is different when your dating them... Its a different kind of love... And it is a big deal to me... Those words are soooo powerful... I just feel like I'm leading him on

Can you spin it in a different way? -- "you are so darn cute" or "the sky gets bluer when I'm with you" or "you are the sizzle in my steak." Be creative.

That could be yours and his secret language. He would probably like that idea. Plus (since I was a teacher and am a retired librarian), it would improve your and his creative thinking and vocabulary skills. :)

You tell him -- Since saying "I love you" is a pretty big deal for both of us and we're both so young and our relationship is still so new, let's try something."
And then you outline your plan for a secret language.

Ok... Idk how he will respond to that... but if it helps our vocab skills it will be pretty great ;) haha

You can try to outdo each other with outrageous and wildly creative comments.
You're the only volcano on my tropical island.
You're the sugar on my Cheerios.
You're the chocolate chips in my cookie.
You're the whipped cream on my banana split. (Lots of food ones.)
You're middle C on my harpsichord.

Definitely talk to him. You don't want to send signals you don't mean.
