My husband is complaining about 10 minutes after we lay down that he is having sharp pain that starts at his elbow which goes through his wrist. It then causes the thumb, pointer and middle finger numbness, a tingle sensation. I thought maybe from.him laying on his right side but it happens while laying on his back, stomach or either side. It continues all night long and for an hour or more after he is up and about. We do not have health insurance so I thought someone may point us in the right direction of seeing a specialist or ideas to try and stop the pain! Thanks

It sound like the median nerve is trapped/pinched/injured.
Google "median Nerve Entrapment" for more information.
If you can, you should go see a doctor to avoid lasting nerve damage.
Common treatment for nerve entrapment is rest-ice-therapy-elevation and/or massage, so you might want to start with that and see if it helps.
