I drank 1 small margarita, 4 beers, and 1 shot of vodka. I took the EtG test almost 60 hours after my last drink. I am 23, 6'2, and weigh 189. My metabolism is normal/fast. I threw up 6 hours after my last drink as I am not a normal drinker. I sweated a bit from the heat and drank a normal amount of water, gatorade, and coffee within the 60 hours. The lab cutoff is 100 ng/ml :( Feedback please very stressed

At 6 drinks you should have no EtG at 60 hours.

Thank you for the quick response Dr. Bill. I have taken this test before and never got a result back as I probably tested negative but in case It comes back positive do you have an estimate on how long till I will find out. I am tested through a county probation.

I also had 3 or 4 sips from a lemonade/rum drink that was not very strong which might round me up to 7 1/2 drinks? :( I completely forgot about that. I am not a drinker this was my 1st time in awhile

Somehow I answered this and it disappeared. 24-72 hours is normal lab turnaround time after arrival. How long it takes to get there and how the report is transmitted will vary from agency to agency.
How did we get from 6 drinks to 7-1/2 with a couple of sips?

I was just estimating. I do not know if it was that much I don't drink enough to make a correct assumption that is why I came on this site for your knowledge as I see your posts everywhere. But I drank from 11:15pm - 2:15am. I think it was 3 sips/gulps from the lemonade that had rum in it did not taste very strong... Tested about 61 hours later to be exact...

At 7 and up you're getting into a fuzzy area where there isn't a lot of research. That is still low intake and should be clear in that time. Obviously, the more you drink the longer it takes for the resultant EtG to excrete.

I don't like the fuzzy area. :( I understand that the more you drink the longer it takes but I have been reading a bunch about the downsides of these tests and how most average people are clear after 24-38 hours in comparison to alchoholics? Im not sure though but I know your very smart, I am just super stressed... Definitely not drinking again. So what is your over all opinion Dr?

In all likelihood you are going to be clear even at 7-1/2 drinks. I have cases where twice that amount was consumed and clear within 60 hours. But without specific data to backup my observations (that's what is fuzzy) and that puts me ill-at-ease. While I was 99% at 6 drinks I'm 90% sure at 7 1/2.
Now my left ear is ringing so I'm going to answer it and then go to bed. Let us know when you get the results.
