Hi there,
I have the same stopper... and after running a bath the other day, the water is draining down at snail speed. I purchased Drano and a snake and nothing. Could it be possible that the stopper detached itself from whatever it was attached to before that helped it stop up the water? Do I need to continue snaking? The water was flowing down just fine before I ran that one bath... help please??

Meant to add - I have the same stopper that is mentioned in this previous discussion on this site: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/advice/t-454950.html

Hello Tom,
It's not my exact stopper but mine looks just like that.
Thanks,
Gloria

Tell me, where have you been snaking from? The tub or the stopper? Let me know, Tom

You have snaked from the tub drain to the stopper, correct? Then the blockage's downstream from the stopper. Open up the stopper and snake from there. Good luck, Tom

Tom - one more thing - when I snaked from the tub, I noticed the tip of the snake mechanism hit the bottom of the opening where the stopper was. Is this normal?

Yes. Now snake from that point on. Good luck, Tom

Tom - so push the snake down the stopper and not the tub then - correct? Sorry for all the questions!

Sorry for all the questions! No problem! That's why we're here.
so push the snake down the stopper and not the tub You have already cleared the line from the tub to the stopper. Now I want you to snake beyond the stopper. Let me know how you make out, Good luck, Tom

Tom,
My superintendent finally visited my apartment this morning and did exactly what you mentioned - snaked from the stopper down... hair removed and issue resolved. I'm making it a point to buy a better stopper TODAY.
Thanks so much!!

Tom - you are a gem! Are these called push stoppers? I have a small plastic strainer I bought to catch hair, but the edges don't lie completely flat - and I think that's where my problem starts. I would love to find something that I can install that not only catches my long hair but also stops the water easily so I don't have to use the outside stopper... thanks!

These are called, "Touch Toe Stoppers" They don't strain. What you might do is cut a piece of wire mesh to size and install in in the outside stopper. Good lick, Tom
