I think this movie is from the 90's not sure though. It was about someone going to an island to look for somebody, on the island there was creatures of some sort not sure exactly what. I know they climbed a tower while getting chased but can't remember much else. Don't expect much help as it's quite vague but I'm desperate.

When they get to the research outpost for shelter, there is a tower that they can transmit from. The end of the movie is focused on the structure and its secrets (genetically enhanced baboons that were bred for specialty hunting), but especially that tower.
