My husband and I have been separated for about 3 months. I am getting ready to go and talk to a lawyer and get things going. But he hasn't given me any money to help with our child since we split nor does he call to check on her or talk to her very often. Just when its convenient for him. He threatens to take her from all the time. He goes to a methadone clinic everyday and has no job, no car, and is staying with his great aunt now. I was on a business trip and came home to find out he had been having dinner with another woman so infidelity is where this all started. Do I have any worries when I do get a lawyer and go to court? I don't want him to have full custody, I want to be able to call the shots because I don't want my daughter to be with someone who could possibly ovderdose on methadone. No to mention I provide all the support for her and get nothing from him.

Sounds like you have a good chance to get custody, and restrict him to supervised visitation
