We wash everyday and on the 1st. Load only we get a rotten egg smell from the discharge tube the goes into the laundry tub. All preceding loads are OK. Any ideas?

Could it be the water itself? Do any of your other sinks or spicket's smell when you run water through them?
Smelling like rotten eggs usually means we have high amounts of sulfur in our water, if we let the water run through it usually stops smelling. Do you have city or well water? (We have well water).
On the upside the water is still safe (I hope it is anyway) and shouldn't harm your clothing if this is the cause.

Your washer has a sump that the water drains back into when the washer shuts down. Sponge out the sump and fill it with bleach. Wash it down with a cloth and let it set for a few hours. Cycle the washer to flush it out. Smell better now? Good luck, Tom

No other sinks or spickets smell. We are on city water. The only time this happens is on our 1st. Load of the day and the smell really goes through the house! After the 1st load every day everything is OK.

Did you try speedballs suggestion? It sounds like it may be that more likely.

My LG front loader has a short hose very low down on the front panel that has to be brought out over a shallow pan and drained periodically, and clothes stink to high heaven if I don't.

You won't notice it unless you look. It might be behind a panel door.
