Gosh, so many dry socket questions lately!
You can tell if you have a dry socket; if there is a bloodly clot in the hole where the tooth came out, you are okay. I can understand the pain, it was a molar extracted, a big tooth and I don't know what condition your gums were in, and the teeth around it, when the extraction took place.
You could have a low pain thresshold and need some advil for the pain to reduce inflammation; did the oral surgeon give you any instructions on how to care for your mouth while healing? Like rinsing with warm salt water to enhance the healing process, and please don't poke around in the hole, eat soft foods still, do not chew on that side and rinse often to dislodge any material that may acccumulate at the extraction site.
It should take a week for some people to lose the pain.

It is normal, but will carry on if you are poking at it and not doing what the doctor said. Let it be, and everything will be fine. Extractions are common place now for people. If you are a healthy individual, then everything will be fine. If he doctor thought our mouth was in jeopardy he would have given you antibiotics, so chill.
