I live in Missouri and I am my son's biological mother but his father isn't even though he is on the birth certificate. Can my special needs son who is 20, have his father removed from his birth certificate?

I'm confused - the name of the father on your son's birth certificate is NOT his birth father nor has the child been adopted and this is an amended birth certificate?

Has DNA been done to prove that the father is not the father?

What is the purpose in removing the "father's" name?

I don't know what your son's special needs are (and there is no need to share that info), but is he capable of making this legal decision?

The way I read this is that person listed on your son's birth certificate is not his biological father.

What do you think will be gained by removing the listed father? What does this have to do with terminating rights? Is your son legally an adult?
