So after the first few days I have not had any of the crate problems that others seem to have. My dog doesn't make a mess and usually no longer cries. Now since my husband is disabled it is pretty rare for him to be crated other than at bedtime. The last month though he hates the crate! If I catch him he will go in with just a nudge and be fine but until then I have to chase him all around the house. The second I say bedtime and go and open the doggie door he flees. He will run under the bed or out the bedroom door if I didn't shut it in time. I had to crate him a month ago during the day, for about 20 days because my husband was gone and I had to work but he seemed fine after and it is just recently this has happened. Is there a way to make him not hate it again?

Will he catch you if you pick up a treat? Let him, and take it to the crate. Open the door, and give the command ''Zeus, kennel!'' and toss the treat in. Praise him and close the door.

He won't even come for treats now. I used to give him a treat every time he went in but stopped a month or so ago. I have been trying it again but now he seems to know what it is for.

Do you have bedding in it? Have you checked it for any problem? Try washing it.

I never thought of that! Thank you!
