This sounds like me two and a half years ago. What is your doctor saying? Have you seen an oncologist yet or had a biopsy?

Sounds like me 15 years ago. Seeking medical attention is your main priority right now.

The doctor first ordered a mammogram and a ultrasound to "locate" or map it and determine its size. Then I had a fine-needle biopsy (not painful). All these were appointments at the hospital for maybe an hour or less.

The biopsy determined the lump was cancerous. I then had a lumpectomy (that has healed very nicely) to remove the lump that was biopsied. After the oncologist and I talked over the resulting pathology report, I agreed to 16 radiation sessions to be on the safe side, but chemo was not needed.

The main thing is to have a doctor examine this and then go from there. Being scared and ignoring it will only cause big problems later. Deal with it now while it's manageable. Everyone was upbeat, and I don't remember any pain to speak of.

It was very interesting and educational (ask me anything about tumor markers and staging), plus I made a lot of new friends! I'm still in touch with a young woman from my radiation tech team.
