I love singing and I want to be heard (either christian or secular) but I have heard people telling that you can not get famous once you are out of your teens.is it true? Cause I am 19 now and 20 in two more months!

Most singers don't get famous until they are much older. And it all depends on what you mean as "famous" And how willing you are to put into this what you have to.
Do you write your own music, most open mics don't allow cover music.
Do you take voice lessons ? Have a voice coach? Do you have a booking agent ?
How many open mic's do you do week? How many times a month do you go to nursing homes and other centers to sing for people?
Do you go to local events to perform, and get booked into Lions Club, or local fairs and the such.
On Christian music, how many churches do you travel to and sing special music for each month ?
You don't get famous sitting at home, wanting to. You have to do it.
My wife has reached regional level at this point, ( that is where you can make a living doing it) And that is what most people get, they make a living, never national famous but they are known in their regional circle.
She does a 4 or 5 state tour a couple times a year before. When it first started, she spent more money on gas and hotels, we got a van so we could sleep in the van, since we could not afford motels. And I remember washing in my YMCA than we want to talk about.
So what are you doing to make it happen.
