Last night I went to the ER over some mild (yet consistent) cramping in my pelvic/ ovary area that had been going on since early Thursday morning. I was afraid it may have been something serious as I should have got my period June 9th and tested negative on a home pregnancy test 1 week ago. The ER collected my urine sample (she said it was cloudy but otherwise fine) and informed me I was in fact pregnant. Based on my last menstrual cycle (June 13th-18) she said I was 6 1/2 weeks along. They collected a blood sample and sent me for a transvaginal ultrasound. After the doctor looked it over, she came in and told me that my hcg level was very low at 71. Also she said that they observed nothing in my uterus at all, and that I need to see an obgyn this Monday. She gave me the ultrasound report to bring to the obgyn and after reading it myself, I'm even more confused. It says; " no intrauterine sac appreciated. Endometrial stripe measures roughly 6mm in width. Right ovary has a grossly unremarkable appearance. Mildly thickwalled cystic structure seen in the left ovary likely representing corpus outrun dust. No adnexal mass appreciated. No cul de sac fluid seen." I'm terribly confused and growing increasingly concerned. I feel the ER Dr. Was in a hurry and didn't explain much to me. Should I be worried? What does this all mean?
