The DNA test has to be Court approved.

SSI has the information - ask them if you need to file a Petition in Court or if there is some other way.

I am reading that you do need to file.

Have you applied for food stamps, any other aid? That agency should be able to help you with the procedure.

I am on foodstamps but where I am at we don't have caseworkers but I will still call and see if anyone can give me some kind of info on that

It's confusing because the different sites have different rules. Social Security would know but it will take a while holding on to get a real live person.

Good luck and if you get a chance, would you come back and let us know the answer in case someone else asks?
