Any Idea what could be causing this burning and swelling and inflammation in my lower back? My dr. isn't in town until next week and I have no way of figuring this out! Should I be worried and does this call for a dr. visit. Or is this burning and inflammation normal during pregnancy?

Back pain is normal during pregnancy. You can imagine what the extra weight of the unborn baby will do to you. Your body is not used to this sudden weight gain and in order to prevent you from tipping forward, muscles must be used to stabilizing you. So the muscles your body didn't use as much before pregnancy are now in constant use to keep you from tipping forward. They become imbalanced as a result which can cause back pain. Also, the extra weight causes your spine to compress more which could be bad for your discs. They can rupture or bulge out of place and could irritate the sciatic nerve causing it to inflame and cause sciatic pain. It appears you don't have sciatica but these pains are common with pregnancy.
