View Full Version : Is He Uninterested Now After My Friend Told Him Not To Hurt Me?

I have been talking to this guy for over a month now. He has a very busy schedule due to the profession he is in and sometimes I do not hear from him for a few days. I never let that bother me. We always seem to be off on getting together-either I cannot when he wants to or he cannot when I want to. But we do talk all the time. As dorky as this sounds our way of getting to know each other became a fun game of 20 questions. However, we have gotten together once and it was great. We hung out at his place and really got along. All of his attention was directed at me-he watched every move I made, looked into my eyes, stared at me even if I wasn't looking at him (I could see out of the corner of my eye). He was supposed to get up really early for practice, but stayed up with me for hours and even I brought up leaving to let him sleep he protested. He did kiss me that night but did not make any other moves. We continued to talk after that. Then one day he asked me if I sent two tweets to him-I am still getting the hang of twitter. He laughed and said "dork", in a playful/teasing way. My response was, "Yep. I am a dork. Hope you like dorks...especially quirky, but super cute ones ;)". He said "It's too soon to tell". I did not know what to say after that, and still do not know what that means. So I just said "good answer. Maybe if we continue to talk we will get to know each other better" and then asked a question off the subject. He texted me a few hours later when he was home, but I was in class and so it was a short conversation. Later that night I texted him, just saying I knew he was probably sleeping but I wanted to say goodnight. After that I did not hear from him for about 4 days. Then Friday night he texted me at 12:30 asking what I was doing. He lives in the city, I live in the suburbs. I know what a 12:30 am text means-booty call. I told him that I had just gotten out of the shower but if he was going to be out for awhile I would come say hi. Then his response was he was going home. So I started questioning him about if he was texting me for a booty call and how I was not that kind of girl and he can't expect that from me. I do not sleep around and booty calls are a turn off to me. The next day he brought it up and said I was acting weird. I went back to explaining my position and thoughts on calling or texting me after midnight. I asked if he understood where I was coming from. He said yes. So, after all of this back and forth I finally said that I wanted to get to know him but not just unclothed and so it was up to him now what he wanted to do. I did not get a response.

Now here is my real problem: That same night I was out with my best friend and ran into some old friends. My best friend brought up the guy and asked if I had heard from him. My other friend asked about it and I just told her a little tidbit on how I was talking to him but it was getting confusing and I didn't know how he felt or if I was just going to be hurt. I was on my phone when an old friend came in and I got up to go talk to him since I have not seen him in a very long time. I left my phone on the table, with everything else. When I got back my "friend" (not my best friend) told me she texted him from my phone basically telling him that if he did not like me or wasn't interested then not to lead me on because I am a good girl who doesn't deserve to be messed with. I am not sure what else was said. She said she was trying to protect me from getting hurt, but I felt like I was handling that already by saying earlier that day that he needed to decide what he wanted. I called and left a message apologizing and also sent a text because I was afraid he wouldn't listen to my voice mail. I explained to him that this was the first time I had told anyone that I was talking to him besides my best friend. I told him that I was upset because I don't want the drama. I asked if we could have a clean slate... start over. I have not heard from him since. I am afraid that she scared him away because no guy wants to deal with drama, and I don't want drama either.

Did my friend scare him away/turn him off? Or is he just really not interested and maybe never was?

Common knowledge tells anyone that, after and incident such as this, yes there is a very strong possibility that he was "scared off" but who knows. There are a number of reasons he could be not answering, you did mention he has a very busy schedule.

The only way to find out for sure is by communication. Yeah sure it is kind of hard considering the method of communication, however, it seems like all you can do is wait, but don't hang your life up for this guy.

Yes, his schedule is very busy because his profession requires him to be. I just want to know if he was ever or still could be interested? I thought things were going well considering his schedule and what not... especially since he's calling me at night not taking home girls and he knows I don't live in the city or that I am that kind of girl. I am leaving him alone for now. I just want to know if this situation made him realize or made him uninterested anymore.

The only person who knows the answer to that is him. We are all not him, so we cannot say for sure.
