I have 2005 powerstroke 6.0 that is losing coolant. There is no white smoke from the exhaust and there is plenty of power and it does not push coolant out of the degas bottle. The truck runs fine other than losing coolant. There is no visible sign of coolant on the engine or ground. I removed egr valve to inspect intake for moisture and found that it was wet. Thinking that I would need to replace the egr cooler, I started taking things apart and found a small amount of oil in the cac pipes. The truck has 113,000 miles and has never used any oil between changes and not low now.Is it normal for oil to be in the intake? I don't know if the moisture is from the oil or engine coolant. How can I tell? How would I know if I need to replace the egr cooler or not?
