Find the least common denominator and then solve.

You need to make the bottom number the same, so If you multiply 2X2, and 3X2(2/3), it would be 4/6, 2 doubled is 4 and 3 doubled is 6, so you need to add 4/6 and 4/6, which is 8/6, or 1 and 2/6th left over, you could reduce further down than 1 2/6.
