I have a Honda Civic EX 2000, I went to start my car this morning and it won't crank nor click, I asked the neighbors for a jump start but the battery seems to be fine. The lights didn't fade when I tried to start the car while being jumped. Could it be the starter/ ignition? I also checked the starter fuse and its good.

. Remove and fully charge, or replace, the battery. Most auto parts stores will charge batteries for free. Jump starting is fraught with risks to the ECM, alternator, and sensors. This is the best way to rule out the battery as the source of the problem.

. Test all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter. Be very thorough.

. Clean the battery terminals and cable connections. Clean the cable connections at the battery and on the starter motor, disconnecting the negative battery cable first. Examine cables for hidden corrosion and breaks.

. Test the starter motor, if the problem persists. Most auto parts stores will also do this for free.

. Check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting, should the problem continue.

If you've checked the battery and connections and all are OK, then it sounds like it could be the starter.
