Why does my drivers seat in my 04 tahoe only move 2-3 inches and no more? Motor works but will move all the way forward or backward.

Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the seat, unfasten the seatbelt and motor harnesses, and thoroughly examine the mechanism (check for binding).
