'89 Honda Accord LXI died going down the road, restarted, but when parked and killed it, now it will not start and there is no electrical to anything - even interior light.

Have you checked the battery yet? You might have a bad alternator too.

. Remove and fully charge, or replace, the battery. Most auto parts stores will charge batteries for free.

. Clean battery terminals and cable connections. Check the cables for corrosion and hidden breaks.

. Check all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter. Test for power through the fuses. If some of the under dash fuses fail to pass power, even though they are visually good, check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting.

. Check the alternator. With the engine running, regulated battery voltage should be 14 to 15 volts. Perform the test by setting the multimeter to DCV and connecting the test leads to the battery terminals. If the voltage is less than 14 volts, replace the alternator.
