What do I use as a base to install 12 x 12 granite tile on a countertop ?

Hi Marion
Use 1/4" cement board on top of a clean plywood. For best results use thinset mortar between the plywood and cement board. Then install the granite tile using a thin set mortar, or even a polymer-modified thinset mortar although I think that is overkill here!
