My friend has a query which I am asking on behalf of her.

My friend is a Hindu and she was in love with a muslim guy. But she married a Hindu guy(1 yeear ago) for her parents happiness and her parents are not aware of her love affair. Her marriage has not been registered yet. Now she want to take divorce and marry her boyfriend. What is the procedure to take divorce in this case?
Can she convert herself as Muslim before her divorce?
