Hey, guys. My name is kelsey, I'm 19. & I got my period the 1st of June & it ended the 8th. Normal period, nothing unusual. About 2 weeks after that I started spotting brown, light pink & a little red. It wasn't even enough for a pantyliner. It lasted about 5 days, & just up & quit. About a week after that I started spotting brown & light pink again, no need for a pantyliner yet again. I never spot, so it's a little unusual for me. I've been told to take a pregnancy test, but I don't feel like this is even a sign of pregnancy. What should I do?

My only question is, have you had sex?

If so, then a pregnancy test is not a bad suggestion.

Having said that, brown blood is old blood, it's usually your body ridding itself of blood trapped (for lack of a better term) in your body. But, it can be a sign of pregnancy, as spotting sometimes is.

The only real option you have is a pregnancy test. Definitely won't hurt, costs little money. If it's negative then wait to see what happens with your next period. You could just be having an off month.

I have had unprotected sex.. probably not too smart. & now I'm left wondering. I was just kind of hoping someone could put in their two cents as to what it could be. But thank you very much for your answer, I believe a pregnancy test will be purchased soon!

I wish someone's two cents would be enough, but "something similar happened to me", or "I think I know what's going on", won't give you an answer. They're just guesses. You can't guess when it comes to pregnancy, or medical issues.

The only way to diagnose pregnancy is with a pregnancy test, either urine at home, urine at the doctors office, or blood at the doctors office. No one online can tell you.

I get that you're anxious, and you want to talk about it. If that's all you want, we're here, and we'll listen and chat with you. But, if you want to know if you're pregnant, which is what you asked, no one online can tell you that. Sorry.

Good luck.
