House is seven years old. Problem just started.
Turn on water, any faucet or toilet, after it being off for about two hours, and there is a loud fluttery vibration just for a few seconds and then it stops even though water is still on.

Noise seems to be coming from in the walls and have not been able to isolate it to any particular plumbing fixture. It is now happening more frequently but not every time so difficult to have a plumber come and listen to it.

Pump or city water? If City water do you have a PRV, (pressure reducing valve) installed next to where the water enters your house? Ley me know, Tom

Well water, variable speed drive because we use the well for geothermal feed.
There is a pressure reducing valve on the geothermal unit but that's a separate circuit from the house water.

Thanks for your help.

His "flutter". Can you track the noise or vibration down to the source? Wherel's it the loudest? Back to you, Tom

That's what I am trying to do. Hard because it does not do it all the time - mainly in the first turn on in the morning. Seems to be in the wall.

I will keep trying to track it.

Flutter and noise equals vibration someplace. Try feeling instead of listening. Good luck, Tom
