My basement was just finished and left unused... after several months we put a guest in that room with its own bathroom... after a couple of days they started complaining of a sewage smell from the shower? What could this be? I am afraid that there is no vent and no trap... in this case I believe we have to tear down the wall to find out??

What should we initially do before spending tons of money.. HELP

Hard to say but you would have smelled it too if a trap is dry. Slab house?
