Got home and my furnace blower was humming, but not running. Pulled the front panel and there is an electrical smell like the magic smoke escaped. Switched the AC off and turned just the fan on with no success. I could hear a click of the relay, but the motor was not turning.
Is this actually the motor that is at fault or possibly a capacitor?

I believe the motor is toast. Time for a new motor and a new capacitor that matches the motors requirement. Never reuse a capacitor from the old motor. Penny wise and pound foolish.
