Ok its my third 3rd day seeing my menstrual cycle... N my husband and I are trying to conceive, when calculating my days should I count from the first day of my period to 12 -14{dayz} down? And will that determine my ovulation date?

Yes. 12-14 days from the start of your first period. So if today is your third day of your period, your estimated ovulation date would be between the 9th and 11th. But remember, this is just an estimate based on the typical 28 day cycle, and every woman ovulates at different times. So it would also be a good idea to buy ovulation predictor kits from the store, as well as chart your basal body temperature(Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com (http://www.fertilityfriend.com)) these will also help narrow down when you ovulate. Good luck!

I agree with buggage. Always use the first day of your cycle. If you do not have a 28 day cycle your ovualation is a bit different. You actually ovulate 12-14 days before your next period, therefor if you are a 25 day cycle, or a 35 day cycle your ovulation won't necessarily be 12-14 days after the first day of your cycle. How long is your average monthly cycle? If you aren't sure when you may be ovulating definitely chart your bbt and/or get a predictor kit. Good luck!

Ovulation usually occurs about 14 days before a woman's period begins — that's why it's so difficult to predict. It may occur on day 14 of a regular 28-day menstrual cycle (day one is the first day of bleeding), but most women do not have 28-day cycles. In fact, most young women have irregular cycles (each cycle may be of a different number of days), and women who have regular menstrual cycles may not always ovulate on the same day each month.
As there are 5 weeks in some months it can throw you out of timing if you go from the first day your period starts.

Try to use this ovulation calendar tool Ovulation Calendar | Advanced Woman Calendar - pregnancy ovulation calendar by eOvulation (http://www.eovulation.com/ovulation-calendar/) to trace your cycle and find the date of ovulation.
