Help I have a Maytag electric dryer model number DE 512. Not sure how old it is, it came with the house. Was working fine then,, I push the start button, it buzzes and nothing else. Wondering if this dryer is worth keeping. What can the problem be?

Could be almost anything, need more information. I would say it is quite possible it is worth keeping, the problem could be a $20 thermostat or a door switch.

Circa 1992... I had one from 1976, motor went out and I opted to get rid of it. It is essentially the same design as the one I had. My new one is 5 years old, so you get how long they can last.

Probably thermal fuse, thermostat, or one of the sensors/switches. Not too expensive to repair. Not easy to troubleshoot on here, though.

Might be some others on here that can help you, though.
