I needed to amend my 2006 return, but now I need to send in my 1040x. My question is do I need to send in my original return along with my amended return or is the amended return good enough? Also what is the correct postage for this?

Just the amendment (Form 1040X) is good enough.

Up to 5 pages, a 39 cent stamp is enough.

The Form 1098-T shows tuition information.

There is no easy answer, because your tuition may be an adjustment to income (which is a deduction) that goes on the front og the Form 1040 and CHANGES the Adjusted Gross income or it may be a credit which changes the TAX due and is on Page #2 of Form 1040.
