On May 19th 2012 I was involved in a motorcycle accident and got a pretty nasty sprained ankle as a result. I went to the er and had x-rays taken.. no broken bones which shocked the doctor and nurses alike. It's now been over a month and I still have an enormous amount of pain and also still have discoloration and swelling. I also sometimes experience a "burning" sensation in my entire foot. The pain travels all the way up my leg to just above my knee. I was wondering if this is normal... I do have a very physical job as well as 3 young sons to care for so I know this doesn't help... I have been wearing an ace bandage and it does help a little but when I take it off the pain is more intense. I ice it with elevation once a day (usually at night after the kids are in bed) I also have been taking an anti-inflammatory drug that was prescribed for my tendinitis and it helps too. Money is tight so I really can't afford to go to the dr unless it is absolutely unavoidable. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
