I sustained an injury on my front tooth by hitting the curb. The tooth moved about 1mm inword and I pushed it back into place with my tong. Now the tooth hurts and is very sensetive to touch and it has started to slightly change color. The dentist recommended I wait 2 weeks since the nerve may repair itself. I am 35 years old and what are the chances of that? Should I get a root cannel immediately or wait, to prevent further discoloration? With further discoloration occur after a root cannel?

You should truly get a second opinion from another dentist.

My advice: Do as your dentist says. If he/she says the tooth may be repairing itself, then it is a chance for that. If the tooth has not (partly) repaired itself within two weeks: get a root canal. If your tooth is very discoloured, your dentist can whiten it up, so waiting for two weeks will not do any bad in that way.
Good luck!
