I have 2 sister kittens, 9 month old. For the past 2 1/2 months they have had a decrease in appetite. They used to be very excited when I put out wet food and finished it off immediately, now they will take a few bites and walk away from the food, during a full work day they will finish some of it. I am splitting the small 3 oz wet can between the 2 of them and leave out the dry food. I have tried every brand and flavor under the sun so I do not believe its an issue of them being finicky. There is definitely a noticeable decrease in weight, but there behavior otherwise has not changed and there has been no change in their environment. I have not had them spayed yet but I cannot see why that would cause a loss of appetite. Im very concerned, so any information would be much appreciated.

Welcome to my world! We have four rescued cats who stick up their noses at most canned foods. Once in a while we hit on a flavor most of them get excited about, but by the second day, they turn their backs on it. We leave the food out and see them leisurely walk by the plates and take a nibble or two. None of them are skinny. If your cats are losing weight, take them for a vet check. And please get them spayed very soon. That is vital to their general health and a long life. If one of them escapes (smells a male when the front door is open) and sneaks out, you have just added to the homeless cat population. And I can rescue only so many cats.
