Online fund for bullied elderly bus monitor tops $515K - World - CBC News (http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/06/22/bullied-bus-monitor-fundraising.html)

If you haven't seen the video you will be disgusted by these children. Obviously products of terrible/absent parenting. Congrats to my fellow canuck for helping her out.

Obviously products of terrible/absent parenting Possibly a safe assumption. People thought the father who shot up his daughter's computer was crazy .

Lets not even go there until we know what is really going on. In the family court systems today they force fathers out of children's lives and turn them into walking wallets. So before you start talking about absent parents wait to see what the situation really is. Most of absent parent situations are not self imposed but by court order. Try visiting your local system some time and spend a day watching the decisions handed out.

Let's not go there either as none of that is actual fact.

Bullies hate school. So, I'm sure at least one of those bullies wouldn't be on that bus if they were allowed to skip school, cut class and drop out without repercussions.

The meanest kid in my elementary school tried his damnedest to leave school, but the administration wouldn't let him and neither would his parents as they would charged (with neglect?) for letting it happen. So, he was forced to stick around where he bullied, fought, stole and vandalized for years and now makes a living selling drugs.

The problem is school. It's a joke. If a kid doesn't want to be there, don't force him to otherwise he's going to act out.

Are you trying to say that the statement I have made is untrue? If you really think that then do a little research and see how one sided many courts are when it comes to the children and dads. Many courts have a mandated automatic split of time with the mothers getting the lions share no matter what she is doing. Try going to your local courthouse and watch if you don't believe what Im saying. They want the dads to pay child support so they can attempt to make criminals of them.

This action by these kids can be attributed to many things I guess.

However to pick on a defenseless elderly woman and then to threaten and make fun of her because she cried... I have no sympathy for them. Some sort of example should be made of them for their cowardly, almost criminal actions.

Sorry, but this hit a soft spot with me.

There is only one answer to these kids tough justice. When I was in Scotland they proposed a remedy for this sort of behaviour it involved a wall and a head

Try visiting your local system some time and spend a day watching the decisions handed out.My wife is a lawyer specializing in family law so I do have quite a bit of knowledge in that area ;-).

By 'absent parenting' I meant that both parents may be present but they choose to let their little snowflake do whatever he/she wants... no discipline, no boundaries, etc. These are the parents that let the nannies and teachers raise their kids.

Thanks for clearing that up. Here in the States that term is normally associated with a father figure missing from the structure. I guess Im quick to defend the fathers that have been removed by force then given a black eye by the media for "not being there". Its really sad.

One father actually had the balls to state:

it's called capitalism

Let's see, feminists wanted women out of the house and into the office, leaving schools to babysit and raise children under a leftist indoctrination; being careful to do nothing that might tweak their self-esteem, hurt their feelings or encourage personal responsibility.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood and others have taught them that it's their body and they need to explore their sexuality, that you don't need no daddy around and what the heck, we can just help you get rid of that little inconvenience anyway so don't sweat it. And by the way, Heather can gave two mommies or no mommies or...

It's called liberalism, progressivism, feminism, secular humanism... but don't blame it on capitalism.

How do you know the parents are liberals?Hello NK:

Seems to me, that children who strike out, have been struck. In my view, the children of right wingers are much more likely to have been struck, than the children of liberals..

That's my assessment.

But, I wonder what a 68 year old grandma was supposed to "monitor" in the first place. I thought they had cameras for that. It looks like she was bait.

It was heartbreaking and disgusting to watch the video. I was disturbed by a police officer saying that he was concerned for the safety of the bullies after they received threats. That's what is wrong with society these days, there is more sympathy for the bad people than good ones. A big salute to my fellow Canadian for the fundraiser, he's a great guy. I'm sure glad I finished school in the mid 90s, that was the last few years before kids and society in general went from relatively sane to complete morons. They should get a young, tough guy to be a bus monitor, kids wouldn't dare give him any crap.

Hello NK:

Seems to me, that children who strike out, have been struck. In my view, the children of right wingers are much more likely to have been struck, than the children of liberals..

First of all I made no claim as to the parents of those children being liberals. Clete blamed it on capitalism and I responded (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/current-events/canadian-man-sets-up-fund-bullied-us-grandma-gets-515k-673898-2.html#post3164349) and blamed it on the failures of liberalism, progressivism, feminism, secular humanism - not necessarily the parents.

As for your assessment, "right-wingers" tend to teach their children to respect authority while liberals teach them to "stick it to the man."

Bad parenting is absolutely not relegated to any specific group. It's individual families, whether rich, poor, liberal, conservative, religious, non-religious.
