I fractured a tooth a while ago and now have an exposed nerve. The pain was bad for a while and then quit. It now hurts again and along with the toothache I also have extremely tender/inflamed gums along with bad breath, an ear ache, sore throat, and stuffy/runny nose. Is this just a toothache along with a cold or could the tooth be causing these symptoms?

Sounds more like your root is infected. Best to see a dentist and he would determine if you need antibiotics.

It sounds to me that you may have developed an abscess under that tooth and the infection has spread to surrounding areas. You need to go to an emergency room and have it treated. Those types of infections can be deadly because of the proximity to the entire blood stream, The infection could spread to your heart , lungs, liver, etc. It is nothing to play with. SEE AN DOCTOR!!
