Hello. For the past year I've been noticing something strange going on with my vagina. At this time (May 2011) I was still a virgin. At first I would itch, if I wipe too much it starts to sting when I urinate, I would discharge more than usual and it would also hurt to poop. Now a year later I've lost my virginity in October. I still have the same symptoms, but recently I noticed I discharge a lot and its yellow. Also, a couple hours after showering I start smelling unfresh. When I feel inside my vagina its not as smooth as it once was before this all begun. I have no clue what it could be, but I'm praying its nothing serious. I know I should go to the doctor, but I don't know how to tell my mother.
Please help!!

Yes, you need to go to the doctor. This is an infection of some kind and only a doctor will be able to cure this with antibiotics. You tell your mom that you think you have a yeast or bladder infection. That happens to every woman whether they are sexually active or not.

I agree with J_9. It sounds like it could be an infection of some kind. Untreated infections can get worse and even lead to serious longterm problems. By all means tell your mother as much as you can so that she can take you to a doctor.

You are very welcome!
On a side note, I hope you are using birth control.

Why should I use birth control?

Because you are not a virgin, which means you are having sex. No one form is 100 percent, so you should be on birth control pills and using condoms both when you have sex.

Yes go to the doctor! It's okay the doctor will just look and maybe give u a pelvic exam it's a little uncomfortable but it's worth the other pain
