We have a 17 week old female pug. It seems that she has two personalities. One is calm and sweet and gentle and one is hyper and fiesty. When she gets hyper, she gets nippy and tries to bite feet, toes, pant legs or even will jump up and has taken a nip on my thigh. We try to calm her down but once she gets to a 10 it is impossible. We take her for long walks and play with her to try to get the energy out. We teach her commands too and she knows sit, stay, come, lay down, roll over, and paw. She sits and waits for the OK for her food and usually sits before we go outside (still working on that). She nips occasionally at the hands when we are playing but the main problem is the feet. We know when it is coming too because she will run ahead of you to beat you and do this "used to be cute howl" and then go for your feet so it is usually when we are in motion and a lot of times when we are getting ready to leave or go to bed. We have tried ignoring but it is hard because it hurts. We have tried yelping but she doesn't care. We have tried the caser milan sshh and poke her side but she thinks that is play time. We tried redirecting to a toy but it is hard when you are walking and she is so low to the ground. We do give her a timeout in the bathroom and that usually calms her but she tends to go back to biting a little bit later. Again, this isn't an all the time thing and usually happens when she is super hyper or cranky and needs a nap. I am hoping it will subside as she gets older and gets spayed but am scared it won't. I had another pug that nipped a bit but nothing like this. Also, her two littermates are nipping a lot two-the mother never took to them when they were babies so I'm thinking they never learned bite inhabition. Any help is greatly aprpeciated. We want to be consistent and have seen some progress but still concerned.
