My 7 year old side by side GE Profile refrig will not properly cool. The first thing that happened was the freezer side was cold but the dairy was melting, then the ice maker would not make ice. I unplugged the refrig for a few hours to make sure the unit was not building up frost then plugged it back in and it seemed to be fine for about 10 hours then the same thing happened. I talked to a local repair shop who said the circuit boards are junk on GE appliances and it sounded like it needed a new one, I purchased a new one and changed it, this seemed to work for a few hours and again went warm and now the refrig side is not cooling.
When It runs I hear the fan on the freezer side sounding like it's struggling, it revs up and slows down. I checked the fan on the compressor and it is running.
So disappointing to pay so much more for what I thought were better appliances to have noting but problems with all 4 appliances at different times over the past 7 years. Never again!
Thank in advance for your thoughts/suggestions
