We bought a new room air conditioner ge brand model # AEW24DQ and it does not work we have a 220 outlet this ac is 230/208 volt what can be wrong

What does not work? The AC unit itself? Assuming it has been plugged into the "220" volt receptacle, and the voltage is correct, then the unit must be defecitve, and needs to be returned for credit.
