If your mother has mild to moderate psoriasis, are there are a variety of over-the-counter products that may be helpful in treating the condition. Go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to recommend a treatment for her. Since your mother has psoriasis on feet and scalp, the pharmacist may recommend a stronger product for those areas. Applying moisturizers regularly can also soothe and relieve and scaling.

I have Psoriasis on my scalp and ears and mildly on my legs. Prescription Nizoral shampoo works really well-you can get it OTC but it does not work as well-the percentage for the active ingredient is lower and it makes a big difference. Also Diprolene is prescription lotion but is more like a liquid works well for the scalp. Go to the National Psoriasis Foundation Online for lots of good tips. I also think evening primrose oil works good for me (pill form). She needs to work on the inside out.

Hi, ask your mom to try using fish oils and evening primrose oil this can moisture her skin and eventually lessen the scales. I have also psoriasis. This helps me. Give her anti depressant herbs this could help her not to worry too much as this trigger the psoriasis. She could take st. john's wort herb or 5htp in capsule this helps to increase serotonin hormone and also b-complex vitamins as this vit is so called a "happy vitamin".. try using also jojoba oil to the affected area. Apply it every night to her scalp. Then in the morning expose it to the sun for at least 30mins. This helps me a lot.
