I just got done drinking a 40oz of Steel Reserve (8.1% alcohol). So, I figure that's exactly equal to 6 regular American beers (72oz) of 4.5% alcohol, or 6 drinks. I drank it in about a three-hour timeframe.

What I'm wondering if I will be okay by Thursday at 2pm. Im not really sure if the lab is using the 100 or 500 level cutoff. But I figure if I start the countdown 5 hours from now (after my last sip), it will be about 86 hours. I *think* I should be fine for either cutoff.

Here is what is concerning me, however. On Friday afternoon/evening I went to a party and had a 6 pack of beer and half a 40oz in about a 8 hour timeframe. I'm pretty such that doesn't change things THAT much for the worse because I did let a lot of time pass between drinking sessions and didn't drink at all yesterday. (Plus, I figure 86 more hours is lot of time for many half-lifes to be eliminated.)

Any expert advice I can get on the subject would be much appreciated. Btw, I'm a healthy 29 year old, about 125 pounds and I drink a TON of coffee and water.

Opps. I seemed to have miscalculated. Further reading suggests that it will take longer than 5 hours for my BAC to reach zero.

I'm thinking the hours I should start counting from should be 10 hours from now. So, instead of 86 hours... will I be okay in 81 hours?

Are you male or female? BAC isn't significant at that volume of consumption. Used g/kg instead although not significant at that time span either.

There is no record of anyone testing positive for EtG at that amount of alcohol at or above 80 hours.

Are you in the US?

When calculating BAC, since you are a regular drinker, your rate of elimination will be around .018 - .022 rather than population average of .015. (assuming male. + 9% for female).

I am a male from the United States.

I drink about 2 to 3 times a week on avg. Yeah, I was reasonably sure that I wouldn't test positive from drinking tonight, although the fact that I also drank on Friday got me a bit concerned, because I saw on another post you said that people often test positive for successive drinking. I wasn't sure if I fell into that category or not.

EtG isn't cumulative. From an elimination standpoint it can be viewed much as alcohol. It eliminates at a fixed rate based on your metabolism. If you drink more while EtG is still in your system it will spike up from there but the existing has no influence on the new input.

It seems like you are well versed on the time line... where does that come from?

I have a degree in biochemistry, and took many (too many) courses in biology and organic chemistry, and was especially interested in xenobitic metabolism. So I understand the general science of this stuff, but there's still so much I don't grasp about EtG testing, esp since my interests slowly moved more towards plant biology and have not studied human biology in quite a while.

Recently I ended up on probation (non drug/alcohol related misdemeanor), and have to report for general therapy once a week. Part of that program is random EtG testing. (She told me that sometimes she will test me for the 5-Panel right there in the office, and sometimes she will send it out for extended testing including EtG.). She strongly implied that next Thursday that my urine will be sent out to the lab, so that is why I was slightly concerned. I should not have drank but I figured that there's virtually no chance I would show up as positive after 80+ hours, but I wanted to make sure.
