My mother lives in our home but is not on the deed, title or mortgage, which my wife and I took over many years ago. She does not pay rent or help with bills. My mother recently began drinking again and is suffering from demensia brought on by alzheimers, which she is being treated for. Her drinking, while dealing with this condition, has made it very dangerous to live with her and we want to know what rights we have to remove her from the home. All of her medications dictate that she does not drink, though she ignores this fact. She has also been told not to drive by two doctors, though she will not listen and puts herself and other in jeopardy every time she's behind the wheel. We simply want her out of our home.

So you just want to throw her out? How about getting her the care she needs?

Yes you can evict her, but that isn't the way you should go.

Can you yes. Should you perhaps get with her doctor and have her committed to a care unit for her illness.

Does she work, where does her money come from ? Does she have a car, whose car is she driving.

We simply want her out of our home.Hello Warren:

I'll bet your mother wanted YOU out of the house too, when you were a kid. Good thing she didn't.. But, considering how you turned out, maybe she should have.
