I've been suspecting that I have ADHD in attentive type (ADD) for around 4 months and I can trace back my symptoms to kindergarten. If you need more of a description you can refer to my other post "Is this ADD?". Anyway, I've been trying to tell my parents by telling them constantly that I just can't concentrate even when I try but then my mom just responds with "Then you'll just have to learn" or " Don't say can't" in a scolding manner and my dad responds with " You should listen to the learn Chinese CD we bought". But the only reason my Chinese grade is lower than in my other classes is because there are so many more distractions in that class than in my other classes such as half of the class not listening and messing with things on their desk then talking. I've asked people how to concentrate better and none of their methods have worked. I'm too scared to tell them directly that I think I have ADD because the last person I told my educated guess to laughed and told me I was being ridiculous and that there was nothing wrong with me. So is there a way I can tell my parents things that would lead them to find out more about ADD without actually mentioning ADD? I need to find out if I have ADD quickly because it will be more difficult to manage once I get to upper school and after. Please don't tell me to just tell them my suspicions directly because they won't believe me unless they connect the dots themselves. I'm actually surprised they haven't thought of this before I think it's because I don't get bad grades because of my in attention but that's only because I've never had to try hard in school. So for a final time a state my question Is there a way to have my parents connect the dots themselves by me just nudging them in the right direction so to speak.
Thanks!
PS if there are any spelling mistakes or grammar issues in this post it's because of auto correct or the fact that I'm using a flat keyboard on an iPad to type this
PPS I know that this is kind of a duplicate post but this is a different question from my first question and I was trying to categorize this question but I was using the mobile version of ask me help desk and I couldn't find where to categorize a new question was so it just added it as an update to my previous which is not what I wanted to do. Thus this post.
